COLUMBIA, S.C. -
Quanterra Harrison shaved .18 seconds from her 100-meter Hurdle time for a new personal-best as well as another NCAA provisional qualifying time and finished 11th in the preliminaries to set the pace for the UNC Pembroke track & field teams at the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday at the Sheila & Morris Creggor Track.
Harrison, who has now registered three NCAA provisional qualifying marks this season, finished the 100-meter Hurdles with a time of 14.00.
Savannah Watkins recorded a new personal-best in the 400-meter Hurdles with a time of 1:12.52 for a 17th-place finish.
On the men's side, the High Jump duo of
Orlandus Gamble and
Jathan DeBerry continued to dominate with second and third place finishes, respectively. Gamble cleared the bar at 2.05-meters while DeBerry cleared 1.95-meters to match his personal-best.
Caleb Baldwin placed 11th in the 100-meter Dash with a new personal-best time of 10.67.
The Braves will be back in action one last time before competing for the Peach Belt Conference Championship when they travel to Columbia, S.C. next weekend for the USC Open. The meet will be held at the Sheila & Morris Creggor Track.
The event is closed and spectators will not be admitted.
