AUGUSTA, GA. – Three days removed from career performances,
Quanterra Harrison was named Peach Belt Conference Track Athlete of the Week, while
Brandon Boyles was named Peach Belt Conference Track Athlete of the Week, officials announced Tuesday.
The announcement marks second conference award of the season for Harrison, who was honored March 30, but just the second female to be honored on the track side. Boyles is a first-time recipient of the award and is the first field athlete to be honored on the men's side this season.
A redshirt sophomore from Charlotte, Harrison knocked off 0.18. seconds from her pervious time in the 100-meter Hurldes for a new personal-best of 14.00 at the Gamecock Invitational. The time was also her third NCAA provisional qualifying time this season so far and is the fifth-fastest time in NCAA Division II this season. Harrison also competed in the 200-meter Dash where she placed 53
rd with a time of 26.14.
A native of Pinnacle, Boyles captured an event title in the Shot Put with a personal-best throw of 14.34-meters at the Trojan Relays. The redshirt junior also had a top-five performance in the Hammer Throw with another personal-best throw of 46.50-meters for a fourth-place finish. Boyles closed out weekend competition with a 13
th-place finish in the Discus Throw with a mark of 38.66-meters. Boyles currently has farthest throw in the conference for Shot Put and the Hammer Throw.
