COLUMBIA, S.C. - The men's 4x100 relay team finished fifth and recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying time to highlight action for the UNC Pembroke track and field teams at the USC Open on Saturday at the Sheila and Morris Creggor Track.
The relay squad comprised of
Orlandus Gamble,
Jamar Adams,
Caleb Baldwin,
Preston Coker finished the relay with a time of 40.99, just 0.73 seconds away from an automatic qualifying time.
Jathan DeBerry cleared 2.01-meters on High Jump for a new personal best as well as a second place finish.
On the women's side,
Quanterra Harrison placed seventh in the 100-meter Hurldes with a time of 14.26, while
Breze Ervin had a personal-best jump of 11.21-meter for a 15
th place finish in the Triple Jump.
The Braves will get a week off from competition before traveling to Daytona Beach, Fla., for the Peach Belt Conference Championships. The first day of competition is set for April 30 at the ERAU Track Complex.
The event is closed and spectators will not be permitted.
