Men Picked Third, Women Fourth In Indoor Track & Field Conference Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Solid showings at the 2024-25 Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships led to the men's squad being picked third and the women's squad tabbed fourth in the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Preseason Polls released Tuesday.
 
The men's team is coming off a third-place finish last season at the conference indoor championships. The Braves received one first place vote and a total of 172 points. Mount Olive and Converse each received seven first-place votes, with Mount Olive earning 189 points to take the top spot, followed by 2024-25 conference champion Converse with 188 points. Belmont Abbey (151 points) and Southern Wesleyan (136) rounded out the top five.

The women's squad slotted in at fourth with 155 points, with Mount Olive earning 196 points after receiving 14 first-place votes to take the top spot. Converse picked up a first-place vote and 180 points to take second, with North Greenville in third at 162 points and Belmont Abbey rounding out the top five with 148 points.

Points for both polls were awarded on a 14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis, and coaches were not permitted to vote for their own teams. 
 
The Black & Gold will officially lift the lid on their 2025-26 indoor season on December 7 when they compete at the JDL Early Bird Invitational. The meet will be held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem.
