CENTRAL, S.C. – The UNC Pembroke volleyball team tallied 41 kills and logged seven service aces on the way to a 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-23) victory over Southern Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon inside the Tysinger Gymnasium.
The victory for the Braves (16-12, 13-2 CC) snapped a two-game skid and improve to 8-4 on the season when playing away from Pembroke. The Warriors (3-21, 1-14 CC) fell to 1-7 on their home floor and have now lost the last four meetings with the Black & Gold.

Red-hot UNC Pembroke hit an impressive .636 in the opening set and did not commit an attack error. The Braves took a hefty 16-6 lead with a kill from Vanja Przulj, and closed the set on a 9-3 run. |

A 6-0 scoring surge pushed the UNCP lead out to 13-5 capped off with a service ace from Morgan Gibbs. Southern Wesleyan trimmed their deficit to 18-12 with an ill-timed attack error from the Braves, but the Black & Gold padded their lead with back-to-back points to secure the set. |
SET 3 I 25-23 |
The Warriors seemed to be in control of the set taking an early 4-1 lead. Each team rattled off four straight points to knot the score at 17 apiece, but UNC Pembroke captured the final three points of the set to stop a Southern Wesleyan comeback. |
