HICKORY – The UNC Pembroke volleyball team hit just .133 from the net and committed seven reception errors in a 3-0 (21-25, 18-25, 20-25) loss at Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday evening at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium in a non-conference match.
The setback for the Braves (16-13) marked the third loss to Lenoir-Rhyne when playing in Hickory. The Bears (15-8), who hit .257 for the match, fell to the Black & Gold earlier this season, but improve to 7-3 all-time UNCP.

Lenoir-Rhyne hit .273 in the opening set and took a 15-9 lead after a UNCP service error. UNC Pembroke tied the score at 21 apiece, but the hosts secured the first set scoring the final four points of the set. |

The Bears remained hot in the set hitting .393 in the set and rode a four point scoring surge to push their lead out to 15-8. The Braves rallied and trimmed their deficit back to 22-15 with a kill from Brianna Warren, but the Black & Gold committed six total errors to give Lenoir-Rhyne a two-set lead. |

Lenoir-Rhyne took control of the set early scoring the first seven points of the set and would take a 10-3 lead with an ill-timed attack error from UNCP. The Braves continued to chip away at their deficit, 19-15, with three consecutive points, but the hosts won the final four points of the match. |
