BRISTOL, TENN. – Shannon Skryd and
Vanja Przulj each logged double-doubles to help the UNC Pembroke volleyball team to a red-hot performance in the final set to secure a 3-1 victory (25-11, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19) over King on Friday night at the Student Center Complex.
The victory for the Black & Gold marked the eighth-straight win of the season, as well as the fifth straight win on the road. UNCP has won both of the meetings against King, who have now dropped their last three outings.

Brianna Warren's kill ignited the offense as UNC Pembroke took a 15-5 lead in the opening set. King scored the next three points, but hit -.143 from the net as the Braves closed out the set on a 10-3 scoring surge. |
SET 2 I 25-21 |
The Tornado tied the score at 13 apiece with a service ace from Paula La Mendola midway through the second set. UNCP pushed its lead out to 21-17 with a kill from Vanja Przulj and hit .327 from the net to close out the second set. |
SET 3 I 22-25 |
Brianna Warren and Shannon Skryd teamed up for a key block at the net to give UNC Pembroke a 17-12 lead. King rallied tied the score at 21 apiece with a kill from Hailee Blankenship and closed out the set scoring four of the last five points to steal set three. |
SET 4 I 25-19 |
A 6-0 run put UNCP on top 12-8 in the fourth set. King trimmed their deficit back to 16-14, but the Braves hit an impressive .552 from the net to stop any comeback from King. |
