Seliga Cruises To Title At Citrus Invitational

LAUDERDALE-BY-THE-SEA, Fla. – It was just another day at the office for 2nd-ranked Logan Seliga on Friday as the sophomore completed a dominant run through the 125-pound tournament with an 8-0 major decision over Castleton's Gavin Bradley in the championship bout to highlight action for the 18th-ranked UNC Pembroke wrestling team in final-day competition at the Citrus Invitational.
 
Redshirt junior Shylik Scriven (184 pounds) and redshirt senior Bryce Walker (197) both bounced back from a semifinal loss on Friday to register a pair of wins in the consolation bracket on the way to 3rd-place finishes. Three other wrestlers made trips to the podium for the Black & Gold as Cody Williams finished 6th in the 141-pound tournament, while Loye Burkhead and Garrett Steele came away with 8th-place showings in the 157- and 197-pound tournaments, respectively.
 
The Braves (6-1, 3-0 SACC) will be back in action again on January 6 when they close out a month-long road trip with a South Atlantic Conference Carolinas dual meet against Belmont Abbey (4-7, 0-2). Wrestling action is scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m. inside the Wheeler Center.
