AIKEN, S.C. – The UNC Pembroke softball team put eight hits into play and scored runs in three innings, but fell 8-6 to USC Aiken in the opening game on Saturday afternoon at J.H. Satcher Field. The Braves used an 11-strikeout performance in the circle from
Kinsley Sheppard and timely hitting to pick up a 3-2 victory in 8 innings for a split of the twinbill.
The victory for the Braves (4-2) in game two marked the second consecutive series split at USC Aiken. UNCP has won eight out of the last 12 matchups against the Pacers (5-3).
