MOUNT OLIVE - The UNC Pembroke track and field teams picked up event titles in both the men's 4x100 Relay, the women's 4x100 Relay, men's 400-meter Dash, women's Long Jump and women's Pole Vault to highlight action on Saturday at the 5th Annual Adidas Trojan Challenge.
Jaidin Thomas,
Caleb Baldwin,
Orlandus Gamble and
Preston Coker teamed up for the 4x100 Relay with a time of 41.09 on the way to capturing first place. Newcomer
DaMarr Harvey picked up an event title in the 400-meter Dash with a time of 48.89.
Jeffrey Gunter recorded a runner-up finish in the 110-meter Hurdles, while
Caleb Baldwin also finished second in the 200-meter Dash.
On the women's side,
Azariah Stewart,
Dy'Air McCormick,
Jaela Thomas, and
Quanterra Harrison used a team effort to win the 4x100 Relay with a time of 47.53.
Savannah Watkins bested the field in the Long Jump with an event title and a mark of 5.33-meters, while
Caroline Flax won the Pole Vault at 2.70-meters.
Jaela Thomas earned a second place finish in the 200-meter Dash with a time of 25.25.
The Braves will be back in action on Friday when they compete at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va., and at the Bill Carson Invitational hosted by ECU. Both meets will be held Friday and Saturday.
