MURFREESBORO – The UNC Pembroke softball team scored five runs in three different innings and recorded 22 hits on the way to a doubleheader sweep against Chowan on Tuesday afternoon at Hawks Softball Field. The Braves used seven RBI from
MaKenna Sibbett in the opening game to win 14-2, and finished off the sweep with a 6-1 victory in game two.
The victory for the Braves (17-9, 6-4 CC) marks the fifth-straight win against Chowan (7-20, 2-6 CC) in Murfreesboro. The setback for the Hawks snapped a short two-game winning streak and was just the fourth loss on their home field.

Jordan Adcox got the offense started with a walk and moved to second on a passed ball. Emily Biddle also drew a walk, and advanced to third on a RBI single from Samantha Allred. UNCP put runners on second and third after an ill-timed error before MaKenna Sibbett sent one out of the park to put the Braves ahead 5-0. |
