CENTRAL, S.C. – The UNC Pembroke softball team played a perfect game in the field committing no errors, but split the doubleheader with Southern Wesleyan on Friday afternoon at Varsity Field. The Braves jumped on the board early in the opening game with a homer from
Jordan Adcox to secure an 8-3 victory, but dropped game two 4-3 after the Warriors hit three out of the park.
The outcome of game two for the Braves (18-10, 7-5 CC) snapped a five game winning streak and are now 5-5 when playing away from Pembroke. The victory for the Warriors (3-22, 2-10 CC) in game two snapped an eight game losing streak and is just their second win on their home field.

Tatum Brummitt drew a walk, but Jordan Adcox smacked on over the center field fence for a two-run blast. Emily Biddle also drew a walk and advanced to second on a groundout. MaKenna Sibbett knocked a single through the right side to score Biddle and give the Braves and early 3-0 lead. |

UNCP put runners on the corners after singles from Samantha Allred and Lauren Hilbourn. Hilbourn stole second on the next pitch, and both Allred and Hilbourn scored on a double to the outfield grass from Emily Rose. Marijo Wilkes cleared the bases on the next at bat with a two-run home run over the left field fence to pad the Braves lead to 7-2. |
