No. 22 Baseball Powers Past Coker

PEMBROKE – The 22nd-ranked UNC Pembroke baseball team registered a double-digit hit total for the ninth time in the last 10 games, and broke open an otherwise close game with nine runs in the sixth inning to fuel a 14-5 win over visiting Coker on Wednesday evening at Sammy Cox Field.

It was the 15th win in the last 18 outings for the Braves (22-8) who made their season debut in the national rankings earlier Wednesday. The rout marked the second-straight loss for the Cobras (12-21) who posted a 10-9 home win over the Black & Gold in mid-February.
