MOUNT OLIVE – Valary Samoei,
Caroline Flax and Norman Junker all captured event titles to highlight action as the UNC Pembroke track & field teams started weekend competition at the Trojan Relays on Friday.
Samoei cruised to a first place finish in the 5000-meter Run with a personal-best time of 18:32.78.
Caroline Flax bested the field in Pole Vault matching a personal-best mark of 3.05-meters on the way to a first place finish. Sara Ormsby placed second in Pole Vault, while
Lillian Marino registered a personal-best mark in Hammer Throw for a fourth place finish.
Junker made his debut in the 10,000-meter Run with a first place finish crossing the finish line in a time of 31:50.01.
Hunter Levy's runner-up finish in the 10,000-meter Run marked a new personal-best time of 31:53.75.
Delsin Burkhart placed third in the 5000-meter Run with a personal-best time of 15:10.40.
The Braves will conclude action at the Trojan Relays on Saturday.
