Volleyball Bounces Back With Victory Over Erskine

PEMBROKE - The UNC Pembroke volleyball team hit a season-best .356 at the net and registered six blocks on the way to a 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-11) sweep over visiting Emmanuel on Saturday afternoon at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court. 

The Black & Gold (5-10, 2-1 CC) have now won the last four meetings with the Flying Fleet. The Braves also committed a total of just 12 attack errors which marks the best outing in five games.

MATCH REPLAY
SET 1 I 25-21 Erskine picked up blocks from Elani White and Sam Bebber to trim their deficit back to 8-7 early in the opening set. A 6-0 scoring run helped UNC Pembroke push their lead out to 19-10. The Flying Fleet put together a 4-0 scoring run to trail by two, but the hosts took control of the final two points to grab the opening set.  
SET 2 I 25-17 Erskine used their best scoring run to get within one point, 11-10, with a kill from Ali Angell, but the Braves went on a 4-0 scoring run to push their lead out to 15-10. The hosts hit .400 from the net, while the Flying Fleet committed seven attack error and hit .167 at the net. 
SET 3 I 25-11 The Black & Gold took an early 9-3 lead off of a kill from Shannon Skryd. UNCP hit a game-high .615 from the net committing just one attack error as they cruised to victory in the final set.
