Volleyball Uses Hot Hand To Take Down Visiting Barton

PEMBROKE – Vanja Przulj and Taylor Osborne each logged double-digit kills while the UNC Pembroke volleyball team hit .462 at the net in the opening set to set the tone for a 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-21) victory over visiting Barton on Wednesday evening at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.
 
The Braves have now captured the last four meetings with the Bulldogs. The victory for the Black & Gold also marked the fifth straight win of the season and improved to 7-2 when playing in Pembroke.

MATCH REPLAY
SET 1 I 25-15 UNC Pembroke took an early 12-6 lead with a service ace from Katie Pressley in the opening set. Barton started to rally cutting their deficit back to 16-12 with a kill from Lily Haaga, but the Braves closed the set scoring the final six points.
SET 2 I 25-22 Barton knotted the score at 22 apiece after a kill from Allison Gambill. Both teams hit better than .300 from the net during the set, but the final three sets went to the Braves with three kills to take set two.
SET 3 I 25-21 A kill from Brianna Warren and a service ace from Shannon Skryd gave the Braves a slight 10-6 advantage in the final set. The Bulldogs rattled off four straight points to take a 15-14 lead, but a kill from Taylor Osborne gave the hosts the lead for good.
