PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke softball team put together a late rally in the opening contest, but fell victim to a perfect game from Lindsey Hibbs in the circle for Adelphi, as the Panthers swept the Braves in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday at the UNCP Softball Field.
The Braves lost the opening game 8-5, and dropped the back half of the doubleheader 15-0. The Black & Gold have now dropped their last four contests are now 2-5 when playing at home.

Adelphi loaded the bases after a walk and two singles. A sacrifice fly from Tierney Fitzgerald to deep centerfield plated two runners, followed by an RBI double from Courtney Wengryn to give the Panthers a 6-0 lead. |

UNC Pembroke loaded the bases after a single, fielder's choice, and a walk. Emily Rose picked up an RBI with a fielder's choice down the left field line, and MaKenna Sibbett's double to the left centerfield gap cut the deficit to 6-3. |

Adelphi loaded the bases to start the inning, but a single to left field from Faith Camilleri scored a run for the Panthers. An ill-timed wild pitch allowed another run to score for Adelphi, followed by a single to the outfield grass that plated a pair of runs. Adelphi tallied six hits and scored 11 runs during the inning to take a 15-0 lead. |
