INDIANAPOLIS – The 5th-ranked and second-seeded UNC Pembroke men's basketball team will make its ninth appearance at the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament in the last 13 years when it takes on seventh-seeded North Georgia in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Southeast Regional on Saturday in Augusta, Ga.
 
The Braves (26-3) are one of two Conference Carolinas teams that earned a berth into the NCAA postseason as eighth-seeded Emmanuel (23-7) will take on 18th-ranked and top-seeded Augusta (26-5) in the opening round as well. The Lions earned the league's automatic berth with a win over Belmont Abbey in Sunday's Conference Carolinas Tournament championship game.
 
Third-seeded and 8th-ranked Lincoln Memorial (27-4) will face sixth-seeded Lander (22-9) in one of the other two quarterfinal games, with the winner of that matchup facing the victor of the contest between the Braves and Bearcats. Fourth-seeded USC Aiken (24-8) will take on fifth-seeded Catawba (23-7) in Saturday's final quarterfinal contest.
 
UNCP will play in the second game of Saturday's quarterfinal round at 2:30 p.m. The semifinals will take place on Sunday at 5 and 7:30 p.m., while the championship game will be contested on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
 
The Braves are 14-10 all-time against the Nighthawks, and will ride a three-game series win streak into Saturday's matchup. UNCP has taken 12 of the last 14 meetings with North Georgia, but this weekend will mark the first time that the squads have squared off at a neutral site.  
 
Ticket information for the 2023 NCAA Southeast Regional will be announced later this week.
