PEMBROKE – Francis Marion scored in all five innings of the opening contest, but the UNC Pembroke softball rallied back in the second game of the doubleheader for a split of the series on Tuesday evening at the UNCP Softball Field.

The Patriots recorded five doubles and a trio of home runs in the opening contest to fuel a 12-1 victory in five innings. A grand slam from Kadence Sheppard in the second inning of game two sparked the UNCP offense, as Sheppard and Samantha Allred drove in all eight runs as the Braves captured an 8-6 victory to cap off the night.
