JaJuan Carr's jumper cut the UNC Pembroke deficit back to 16-13, but the Bobcats went on a 7-0 run to take what would be their largest lead of the night, 23-13, with 10 minutes left the play in the half. UNCP chipped away at its deficit with a 13-5 run capped off with a jumper in the paint from Dallas Gardner to trail 28-26 with 2:57 on the clock.  The hosts shot 44.8 percent from the floor, but Lees-McRae picked up a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the teams to the locker rooms holding a 36-29 advantage over UNCP.
2ND HALF
UNC Pembroke opened the half on a 10-2 run to take a 39-38 lead following a triple from Bradlee Haskell with 16:43 on the clock. The Braves put together an 8-2 run with 7:40 left to play in regulation to hold a 57-52 lead after a pair of free throws from Bradlee Haskell. UNCP shot 52.2 percent from the field during the frame and took a slight 67-65 advantage after an old-fashioned three-point play from Javonte Waverly with 4:13 left to play in the game. LJ Rogers canned a 3-pointer from the top of the key to give the Bobcats a 74-71 lead with 2:17 on the clock, but a pair of Bradlee Haskell free throws cut the score to 74-73 with just over a minute left to play. The Braves forced a stop of defense with 10 seconds remaining, but were unable to convert on their final shot attempt to fuel the outcome.
