INDIANAPOLIS – Avery Buonocore and Oggie Atwood each bookended wins on Day 1 of action to remain alive in the consolation bracket at the 45th Midwest Classic on Saturday inside Nicoson Hall.

Buonocore picked up victories via tech. fall and decision at 141 pounds, while Atwood recorded a decision win in his opening match, and then picked up an overtime win to stay alive in the consolation bracket in the heavyweight division.

149-pounder Tyler Nelson added two bonus-point wins on the day, as well. 

The Black & Gold tallied 19.5 team points, and sit in 28th after the first day of action.
