Soccer Drops Match To Wingate

PEMBROKE – UNC Pembroke tallied 11 shots and five corner kicks, but couldn't find the back of the net as Wingate scored a goal in each half to take a 2-0 road win over the Braves in non-conference action Wednesday evening at LREMC Stadium.

The Braves (6-4-1) fell to 6-10-2 in the all-time series with the Bulldogs (7-4-0).
 
SCORING SUMMARY
15' Wingate's Sydnee Barndt's shot found the foot of Angela Maino, who redirected it home to give the Bulldogs an early 1-0 lead.
78' Tilde Wahrenberg connected with Maino, who dribbled free for a shot and snuck a goal into the back of the net to make it 2-0.
TOP BRAVES
+ Eugenie Amidou logged match-highs in shots (five) and shots on goal (three).
+ Reagan Carr and Mercy Bell each tallied two shots.
NOTABLES
+ Wingate out-shot the Braves 17-11.
+ UNCP led Wingate 5-2 in corner kicks.
