Volleyball Sweeps North Greenville

PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke volleyball team hit .311 from the net and added six service aces to fuel a 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-21) sweep over North Greenville on Saturday afternoon at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court. 

The Braves (10-9, 7-4 CC) snapped a two-game and improve to 3-0 when playing North Greenville in Pembroke. The Trailblazers (8-12, 6-7 CC) have now lost their last four contests and fall to 3-8 when playing on the road this season.

MATCH REPLAY
SET 1 I 25-21 North Greenville took an early lead, as Samantha Ball's kill put them on the board first. UNC Pembroke responded with a kill from McKenna Hayes at 4-2, but the Trailblazers maintained their advantage, extending it to 8-3. The Braves rallied back, narrowing the gap with a service ace from Abby Peduzzi to make it 11-10. The teams traded points until Addie Decker's kill and an NGU attack error gave UNCP set point.
SET 2 I 25-18 UNC Pembroke extended their lead to 7-2 with Savannah Whaley delivering a service ace. North Greenville rallied back to level the score at 7-7, highlighted by Peyton Taylor and Haley Freeman's kills. However, the hosts surged ahead again with McKenna Hayes securing multiple kills, pushing their advantage to 14-10. The Braves maintained control, with Addie Decker's two kills and a block to take a two set lead. 
SET 3 I 25-21 Samantha Ball opened the scoring for the Trailblazers with a kill but Abby Peduzzi quickly responded with a kill for UNCP. The teams traded points early, with Savannah Whaley and Alexandria Mills contributing key kills for UNC Pembroke. The hosts managed to pull ahead with a 5-0 run, including a service ace by Isabella Dillman, to lead 19-14. Despite North Greenville's attempts to rally, including multiple kills from Elise Smith, UNC Pembroke held firm. McKenna Hayes sealed the match with a kill.
