Football Falls To North Greenville In Conference Carolinas Bowl

TIGERVILLE, S.C. - North Greenville scored in all four quarters and put up 17 points in the second quarter to help fuel a 34-20 victory over the UNC Pembroke football team in the Conference Carolinas Bowl at Younts Stadium. 

The Braves (8-3, 5-1 CC) have now lost the last two contests to North Greenville this season. The Trailblazers (7-4, 6-0 CC) will earn the automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1ST QUARTER
The game opened with North Greenville taking possession after a touchback. Their drive was hindered by a false start but continued with a series of short rushes and a 30-yard pass from Dylan Ramirez to Eric Rasheed, moving them into the red zone. The drive culminated in a successful 29-yard field goal by Cillian Bonner, putting the Crusaders ahead 3–0 at 7:40. The Braves responded with an 11-play, 75-yard drive. Tre Robinson connected with Que Kennedy for key gains, eventually finding Jackson Karcher for a 1-yard touchdown pass with 1:50 left, though the extra point attempt failed. The quarter ended with the Braves leading 6–3.
2ND QUARTER
The second quarter featured a series of intense exchanges between the two teams. North Greenville opened the scoring with a 29-yard field goal by Cillian Bonner at 9:28, pulling ahead 6–3. The Braves responded with a touchdown drive, capped by Tre Robinson's 9-yard rush at 6:36, followed by Taylor Harris's extra point, giving them a 13–6 lead. The Crusaders answered back with a 2-yard touchdown run by Ramirez at 3:42, leveling the score at 13–13. They took the lead with another Ramirez touchdown, a yard run with 1:04 remaining, concluding the quarter with a 20–13 advantage.
3RD QUARTER
UNC Pembroke began the third quarter with a strong drive, highlighted by Tre Robinson's 48-yard touchdown pass to Malik Brown at 12:48, tying the game at 20–20. Taylor Harris added the extra point, giving the Braves a brief lead. North Greenville quickly responded, with Ramirez connecting with Sam Washam for a 6-yard touchdown pass at 11:07, followed by a successful extra point by Bonner, putting them up 27–20. Later, the UNCP drive was stalled following a 17-yard sack on Tre Robinson by Diondre Glover, with Hunter Turner recovering the fumble to end the sequence.
4TH QUARTER
North Greenville secured a decisive win in the fourth quarter, fueled by a sustained offensive drive. Ramirez's 1-yard touchdown run at 5:23 extended their lead, and Bonner's successful extra point made it 34-20. The UNCP attempt to respond was thwarted when Tre Robinson's pass was intercepted by Jerrick Foster with 2:23 remaining. Despite their efforts, the UNC Pembroke offensive drive ended without additional points, sealing North Greenville's victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
+ Tre Robinson completed 17 of his 28 passing attempts for 261 yards and a pair of throwing touchdowns. Robinson ran the ball 13 times for five yards and one touchdown. 
+ Que Kennedy caught 10 passes for 134 yards, while JaQuan Albright caught three passes for 46 yards. Albright also ran the ball six times for 29 yards. 
+ Eric Ivory and Evan VanMeter finished the contest with eight tackles each. Ivory had four solo tackles and assisted on a tackle for a loss of one yard, while VanMeter had a trio of solo tackles. 
NOTABLES
 + UNC Pembroke finished Saturday's contest with 384 yards of offense, while North Greenville had 414 total yards of offense. 
+ The Braves had a pair of red zone chances and converted on both of those, while NGU went 6-for-6 on red zone attempts. 
+ The Black & Gold held possession for 27 minutes of Saturday's game, while the Trailblazers held possession for nearly 33 minutes.
