GREENVILLE, S.C. - An individual championship at the Conference Carolinas Championship led the way for men's cross country runner, Ed Carney, to be named Conference Carolinas Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Month, league officials announced Friday.

Carney turned in an 8K time of 25:45.74 at the conference meet on October 24 and was named both Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year and Runner of the Year, while also logging a personal-best 8K time of 25:08.8 to take 18th at the Royals Challenge on October 10.

Carney and the Braves will be back in action Saturday, November 8 as they head to Wingate for the NCAA Southeast Regional races. The women's 6K is set for 10 a.m., with the men's 10K to follow at 11:15 a.m.
