WILMINGTON – Norman Junker finished with two event titles, while Antony Kigen and Moureen Kimaiyo each brought home one to highlight action as the UNC Pembroke track & field teams opened up the outdoor portion of the schedule at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational.

Junker crossed in a personal-best 4:01.22 to win the men's open 1500m, while also winning the 10000m with a time of 32:31.26. Kigen won the men's 5000m with a personal-best 15:22.13, with Kimaiyo taking first in the women's 10000m with a time of 39:15.97.

On the men's side, Ryan Jimenez took second in the 1500m invitational with a time of 4:11.32, while Kelvin Kibet was second in the 10000m at 32:37.36. Sean Todd took third in the 800m with a time of 1:59.78, Lucas Nervo was third in the open 1500m with a personal-best 4:01.84, with Jack Phieffer also taking third in the 10000m with a time of 33:20.35 to round out the top-three finishers.

Leticia Pena crossed in 20:44.38 to take second in the 5000m, while Michela Gritti took second in the 10000m with a time of 41:24.19. Comfort Agwu turned in a personal-best mark of 45.77m and took fourth in the hammer throw to round out the top-five finishers on the women's side.

The two squads combined to turn in 17 new personal bests at the event.

Both teams will be back in action Thursday, March 20 for the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. The three-day event will be hosted by Coastal Carolina at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
