PEMBROKE – Athletic department officials at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Thursday that they have renewed a partnership with Food Lion for the 2025-26 athletic season. 

Under the terms of the contract, the Food Lion Sack To Give Back program will begin in the fall with UNCP football. For every sack the Braves record at home, Food Lion will donate 100 meals to our neighbors in need. During the 2024 season, the UNCP football team helped donate 21,000 meals to the Taley and Jordan Hunt Braves Resource Center.
 
"We're beyond excited to continue our partnership with Food Lion this year," said Assistant Athletics Director for External Revenue Graysen Cockerham. "Their Sack To Give Back and Score To Give More campaigns give our student-athletes the chance to be part of something bigger than themselves and make an immediate impact in our community."
 
The Food Lion Score To Give More campaign will also be present at all home men's basketball games. For every free throw that the Black & Gold make at home this season, Food Lion will donate 100 meals to feed our neighbors in need. 
 
Food Lion Feeds has donated over 3.8 million meals to local food banks and college food pantries through the Food Lion Feeds Sack To Give Back program.
