PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke football team will play its first home game of the 2025 season on Saturday when they welcome Fayetteville State to town for Military Appreciation Night and the Two Rivers Classic presented by Farm Bureau. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at Grace P. Johnson Stadium.
The Braves (0-1) head into Saturday's contest following a 30-21 setback at Wingate in the season opener. The Broncos (0-1) enter Saturday's game after a 10-0 loss against Benedict on Saturday.
Saturday's non-conference matchup marks the 12
th time the two teams have played. The Braves lead the all-time series 9-2 and are 5-0 when playing the Broncos in Pembroke. Fayetteville State won the last meeting between the two teams 35-31 on Sept. 7, 2024 in Fayetteville.
WHAT TO KNOW |
Braves Club Hospitality: The Braves Club hospitality tent will be located inside the stadium, giving members exclusive access to view pregame warmups while enjoying conversation, food, and drinks. The hospitality tent will open 30 minutes prior to kickoff and remain open throughout the whole game for guests.
Parking: Parking in Lot 14 (across from Grace P. Johnson Stadium) is available for $5 for students, and $5 for the general public. Ushers will be available at both entrances to collect payment, as well as answer questions. Space in the parking lots adjacent to the stadium and Caton Fieldhouse are open to passholders only.
Tailgating: Fans may tailgate beginning at 1:30 p.m. Complete tailgating policies can be accessed by visiting this page.
Clear Bag Policy: Fans entering Grace P. Johnson Stadium will be asked to have a clear bag no larger than 12" x 6" x 12". All bags are subject to be searched upon entry. |
WHAT TO WATCH FOR |
POW/MIA Commemorative Chair: A Seat of Honor near the main entrance to Grace P. Johnson Stadium was unveiled earlier this season to commemorate American service men and women who were prisoners of war or are missing in action (POW/MIA). The seat was made possible by the generous support of Braves Club member, the late Mr. Adolphus Lee Turner and the Triple Nickle Society.
Jump Team: The Raeford All Veteran Group Jump Team will deliver the game ball prior to the start of the game.
Fireworks Display During Team Runout: Farm Bureau Insurance will be the presenting partner for a fireworks display that will take place as the Braves exit the tunnel during pregame festivities.
Coin Toss: Rodney Jackson, a 1987 graduate of UNCP, will be doing the coin toss.
Gold Star Family: The Braves will honor the family of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Patrick H. Quinn at halftime.
