Soccer Drops Road Match At Lenoir-Rhyne

HICKORY – After playing to a first-half draw, Lenoir-Rhyne tallied three second-half goals to take a 3-0 win over UNC Pembroke in non-conference action Wednesday evening at the Moretz Sports Athletic Complex.

Mercy Bell logged five shots, while Eli Soderberg led the way with two shots on goal. 

The Braves (0-2-0, 0-0-0 CC) fell to to 9-8-1 in the all-time series with the Bears (2-1-0, 0-0-0 SAC), but have now dropped four of the last five meetings with Lenoir-Rhyne.
 
SCORING SUMMARY
64' Katie Durham's shot was blocked by a UNC Pembroke defender, but ricocheted to the foot of Carola Busquets, who lofted a shot into the back of the net from just outside the penalty area to give Lenoir-Rhyne a 1-0 lead.
67' Kennedy Flowers was taken down in the box, leading to a Lenoir-Rhyne penalty kick. Ava Hartman stepped up and found the back of the net to stretch the lead to 2-0.
76' Isabella Zicchinolfi's corner kick found the head of Katie Durham, who redirected it into the net to make it 3-0.
