HOW IT HAPPENED
1ST QUARTER
The first quarter between UNC Pembroke and Valdosta State ended scoreless, with both teams struggling to capitalize on early opportunities. VSU's initial drive saw a key 30-yard pass from Jameson Holcomb to Council Allen, but their momentum was halted by a sack from Isi Etute, forcing a punt. UNC Pembroke's offense, led by Tre Robinson, managed a 41-yard pass to Que Kennedy, but a fumble recovered by Valdosta State's Rance Conner cut the drive short. Defensively, UNC Pembroke's Britton Pascoe intercepted a pass at Valdosta State's 38-yard line, but the subsequent drive failed to advance, ending in a turnover on downs.
2ND QUARTER
In the second quarter, UNCP capitalized on a Valdosta State pass interference penalty to advance into scoring position. Taylor Harris converted a 20-yard field goal at 9:39 to put them ahead 3–0. Valdosta State's Ethan Eddins missed a 20-yard field goal attempt at 6:04, failing to equalize. With 1:26 remaining, Britton Pascoe recovered a fumble forced by Isi Etute, giving the Black & Gold possession. Tre Robinson then connected with Que Kennedy for a 15-yard touchdown pass with 23 seconds left, and Taylor Harris added the extra point to extend the lead to 10–0.
3RD QUARTER
UNC Pembroke's momentum started early in the third quarter, driving deep into Valdosta State territory after a 48-yard kickoff return by Jordan Marcucci. Joel Felder's persistence paid off as he scored a 1-yard touchdown run on fourth down at 8:47, followed by a successful PAT from Taylor Harris, extending the lead to 17–0. Valdosta State's subsequent drive stalled after a false start and a short punt, giving the Braves another opportunity. Marcus Martin seized the moment with a 74-yard touchdown pass to Que Kennedy, widening the gap to 24–0 after another PAT by Taylor Harris. Valdosta State managed to push downfield late in the quarter but was unable to score before the period ended.
4TH QUARTER
In the fourth quarter, UNC Pembroke's Jamiel Davis intercepted a pass from Harris Boyd at the Valdosta State 45-yard line and returned it for a touchdown at 10:11, pushing the score to 31-0 after Taylor Harris's successful extra point. The Blazers struggled to find momentum, turning the ball over again when Donovan Woods intercepted Harros Boyd at the Valdosta State 50-yard line. Despite a late offensive push by Valdosta State, including a 12-yard completion to Andre Hall Jr. and a 19-yard pass to Xyre Wilson, their drive stalled in the red zone to end the game.
