ROANOKE, VA. – Sofia Skidmore established a new school record in the women's 1000m, while Jacob Jones, Charlie Miller, and Brenton Chapple each brought home a first-place finish during Day One of the Bast-Cregger Invitational on Friday.

Skidmore crossed in 3:03.92 to win the 1000m, while Jones ran a 1:09.89 to win the 500m, Miller won the 1000m with a time of 2:35.64, and Chapple won the heptathlon long jump with a mark of 6.10m.

Chapple would also finish second in the heptathlon high jump at 1.74m, with Sean Todd also taking a runner-up finish in the 500m with a time of 1:10.38.

The Braves will be back in action January 31 as they close out the event with day two action.
