GREENVILLE, S.C. - Another successful weekend at the UNCP Softball Invitational paid dividends for Kaitlynn Hunt who has been named as the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week presented by Athletic Solutions, league officials announced Tuesday. 

The announcement marks the second consecutive honor for Hunt.

A native of Fuquay-Varina, Hunt hit went 6-for-14 from the plate over the weekend to help the Braves to a 3-1 showing. The sophomore finished the weekend with two doubles and drove in six runs. 

Hunt leads Conference Carolinas in runs batted in with 13 this season, and ranks third in the league for doubles with three. 

The Braves will host Elizabeth City State for a doubleheader at Willoughby Softball Field on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. and admission is free.
