LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Postseason accolades continued for the UNC Pembroke softball team on Friday when
Chloe Locklear was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region (NFCA) team.
The announcement marks eighth time that the Black & Gold has had a student-athlete honored on the NFCA All-Region team. However, it is the first student-athlete to pick up the nod since Tatum Brummitt earned the award in 2021.
NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams.
A product of Purnell Swett High School, Locklear picked up second-team all-region honors after hitting .368 on the season. A native of Pembroke, Locklear started in all 46 games and drove in 48 runs. The redshirt junior added six doubles, a pair of triples and 10 homers during the season, while registering 195 defensive putouts this season.
