No. 23 Baseball Drops Doubleheader To No. 15 Young Harris

PEMBROKE – No. 23 UNC Pembroke scored just four runs on nine hits across two games, and dropped both ends of the doubleheader to No. 15 Young Harris Saturday in Conference Carolinas action at Sammy Cox Field.

The Braves took an early 2-0 lead in the first game, but the Mountain Lions scored four unanswered to take a 4-2 win, before Young Harris hit five home runs in the series finale on the way to a 15-2 win.

The Braves (19-8, 12-5 CC) fell to 19-13 all-time against the Mountain Lions (22-6, 15-2 CC), and have now lost five straight in the series when playing Young Harris in Pembroke.

The Black & Gold will be back in action Tuesday, March 24 as they host No. 16 Wingate for a non-conference matchup. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.

TOP 4 After Young Harris scored a run in the third, the Mountain Lions took the lead for good as Sydney Ward's two-RBI double was followed by a Carlos Martans RBI single to make it 4-2.
KEY INNINGS (GAME 2)
TOP 1 Young Harris would get all it would need in its half of the frame, as Jack Enrico's RBI groundout got the guests on the board, while Keypher Contreras added a two-run single to make it 3-0, before Carlos Martans drove in another with an RBI walk.
