PEMBROKE - The UNC Pembroke softball team recorded 16 hits across two games to highlight a Conference Carolinas sweep over Mount Olive on Saturday at Willougby Softball Field. 
 
The Braves used a three-run third inning highlighted by a homerun from Chloe Locklear and eight strikeouts from Summer Bullard in the circle to fuel a 4-0 victory over the Trojans in the opening game. The Trojans jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the second game if the doubleheader, but UNCP put up three runs in the fifth and the sixth innings to complete the sweep with a 6-4 victory.

KEY INNINGS (GAME 1)
BOT 3	UNC Pembroke loaded the bases with a walk from Emma Wrenn, a single up the middle from Cirstin Calloway and Maggie Cunningham reaching on a dropped fly ball. Maddie Gerovac smacked a single up the middle to score a run, followed by Kaitnn Hunt getting hit by a pitch to score another run for the Braves. A deep sacrifice fly from Chloe Locklear scored the third run of the inning to put UNC Pembroke ahead 3-0.
KEY INNINGS (GAME 2)
BOT 1	Alex Serbio drew a leadoff walk followed by single to center field from Cirstin Calloway. Chloe Locklear lit up the scoreboard with a three-run blast over the center field fence.

The Braves will take a step out of conference play on Monday when they travel to Hickory to face Lenoir-Rhyne. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at McCrorie Family Stadium.
