Volleyball Sweeps Lees-McRae

PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke volleyball team hit better than .330 in the first two sets to help secure a 3-0 sweep over Lees-McRae on Friday evening at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court. 

The Braves (9-4, 4-0 CC) improve to 9-6 all-time against Lees-McRae and remain perfect at home against the Bobcats winning all three contests. 

Savannah Jackson hit .615 from the net, while Danika Kunkle recorded 11 digs.

SET 1 I 25-14 UNC Pembroke used a kill from Deorri Gaines to cap off a 5-0 run and take a commanding 21-9 lead in the opening set. 
    - UNCP out-hit LMC .350 to .027 in the set.
    - Savannah Jackson finished the set with a team-best four kills.
    - Addie Decker, Abby Peduzzi and Deorri Gaines all had three kills. 
SET 2 I 25-21 Lees-McRae tied the score at 16 apiece following a kill from Addi Stables, but the Braves won nine of the final 14 points to take the set. 
    - UNCP out-hit LMC .438 to .387 in the set.
    - Abby Peduzzi and Caterina Coronelli both had four kills in the set. 
SET 3 I 25-22 UNCP took a 14-11 lead with a kill from Abby Peduzzi, but three-straight points for the Bobcats tied the score at 14 apiece. The Braves took the lead for good, 15-14 with blocks from Peduzzi and Deorri Gaines. 
    - UNCP out-hit LMC .186 to .100 in the set. 
    - Abby Peduzzi tallied seven kills during the set.
