Soccer Battles For Tie Against Lees-McRae

PEMBROKE – Lees-McRae held a two-goal lead late in the second half, but a pair of goals by the UNC Pembroke soccer team helped the Braves to a 4-4 tie on Saturday afternoon at LREMC Stadium. 

Willow Price and Jahniyah Augustus both scored within two minutes of each other at the end of the second half. 

The Braves (3-1-3, 2-0-2 CC) moved to 5-0-1 in the all-time series with the Bobcats (3-1-2, 2-0-2 CC).
 
SCORING SUMMARY
4' UNC Pembroke wasted no time scoring as Leila Utate played a ball in for Hailey Jones who found the back of the net. 
27' Aubrey Tansey put one through the pipes to tie the game at 1-1.
52' Kylie Gutierrez set up Addie Geiss for a goal early in the second half.
54' Sasha Baker fired off a shot that found the back of the net after a pass from Hailey Jones to tie the score at 2-2.
69' Kylie Gutierrez capitalized on a penalty kick for the Bobcats to put them back in front. 
73' Kylie Gutierrez once again found the back of the net with a penalty kick to give LMC a 4-2 advantage.
87' Leila Utate played a ball in for Willow Price who headed the ball passed the goalie. 
89' With little time left to spare, Jahniyah Augustus knocked a ball from Reagan Carr through the pipes to tie the score at 4-4.

+ Leila Utate finished the match with two assists. 
+ Four different players recorded a goal during Saturday's tie.

+ Lees-McRae held a 16-10 advantage with shots. 
+ Saturday marked the first tie between the two teams in the six game series. Prior to Saturday's contest, the Braves had won all five meetings.
