HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at North Davidson High School for coach Mark Holcomb … Averaged 40.5 yards on 39 punts and placed 14 punts inside the opponent 20-yard-line and six more inside the 10-yard-line … Also threw for 1,607 yards on and 12 touchdowns (7 INT) on 140-of-239 passing … Rushed 40 times for 121 yards and four additional scores … Helped lead North Davidson to a program-best 14-1 record and a spot in the state semifinals … Averaged 40.3 yards per punt as a junior … Also lettered in baseball and basketball for the Black Knights.

PERSONAL: The son of Ceretha and Jim Mitchell … Has a younger brother, Justis … Maintained a 4.15 cumulative grade point average at North Davidson High School and graduated in the top 19 percent of his 366-member senior class … Enrolled in pre-major studies at UNCP.
