A four-time Peach Belt Conference cross country Runner of the Week, Mahaffie was named the Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Year following the 2011 season. She earned all-Peach Belt Conference honors three seasons and was a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic recipient. Mahaffie won the Peach Belt Conference Championship during her senior season in 2012 and was also named USTFCCCA all-region during that year as well. She holds the 16^th and 25^th fastest times for the cross country program in the 6K and owns the 23^rd fastest 5K time.
