A three-time men's soccer team defensive MVP, Dishen played three seasons for the Braves after transferring to Pembroke State from the University of Alabama-Birmingham after his freshman season. Dishen earned All-Carolinas Conference honors all three seasons, and was named the team captain for the 1982 and 1983 seasons. He also was named to the NAIA District 26 team in 1981 and 1982. Dishen competed on the track & field team for the Black & Gold as well and was named All-Carolinas Conference in javelin in 1983.
