GREENWOOD, S.C. – Tenth-ranked Lander erupted for 18 hits and scored 13 runs behind a complete-game shutout effort from Colton Rogers as the Bearcats completed a weekend sweep of the UNC Pembroke baseball team with a 13-0 victory over the Braves on Sunday at Dolny Stadium.

Nick Debo and Roberto Rivera both turned in 2-for-4 efforts to pace the Black & Gold (24-18, 10-14 PBC) who got one other base hit in the outing on a double from Drew Beaver (1-for-3). Stibel Aleman Saba had his 29-game hit streak snapped on a 0-for-4 showing.

Zach Daly homered and drove in a pair of runs on a 2-for-6 hitting line for the Bearcats (35-11, 22-8) who also got a walk and three hits from Colby Lusignan (3-for-5) and Jason Dodd (3-for-5, 3 R).

Daniel Batts (3-1) was sent to his first loss of the season after the senior allowed seven earned runs on 10 hits and one walk in just three innings from the hill. It was the first complete game outing of the season for Rogers (7-1) who struck out five and scattered five hits in the performance.

The Bearcats logged 10 hits and seven runs after the first three innings alone, and had pushed their advantage out to 9-0 by the end of the fifth. UNCP threatened to spoil the shutout in the fourth thanks to Beaver's one-out double, but Rogers got Debo on a comebacker to the mound, and then retired Christian Snider on a routine fly out to left field.

UNCP will close out the non-conference portion of its 2016 schedule on Tuesday when it heads to Hartsville, S.C., to take on region rival Coker (26-17) in a 3 p.m. contest at Tom J. New Field.
