PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke men's and women's basketball teams will continue a season-long three-game home stand on Monday afternoon when the Braves host a pair of red hot North Georgia teams at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.
 
Fans unable to attend the game can still follow the game for free via a live video stream on the UNCP Braves YouTube channel with Cameron Songer handling the play-by-play duties. The game can also be followed via a live statistics link as well.

WOMEN'S NOTES

• The Lady Braves (10-4, 5-2 PBC) ran their season-high winning streak to three with a 63-54 victory over Young Harris on Saturday at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court. UNCP led by as many as 20 in the third quarter before the guests closed to within seven with 2:24 to play in the game. The Black & Gold defense held the Mountain Lions to 1-of-9 shooting down the stretch to lock up the win. The Braves' 44-point outburst in the first half tied a season high for first-half scoring.
• Junior Brianna Baham matched her season best with 13 points, including 8-of-9 at the charity stripe, in Saturday's triumph. Newcomer Nyla Allen set a season high with four made field goals en route to 10 points. Ebone Stevens knocked down a trio of long balls on six attempts to bring her season conversion rate to 44.3 percent - second best in the PBC. Senior Jonissa Monley leads all Braves with 10.6 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest, while Jasmine Huntley adds 9.9 points and 3.5 assists per game.
• UNCP ranks second among the 14 PBC institutions in 3-point field goals made per game (6.9), 3-point field goal percentage (32.6), free throws made per game (14.7), defensive rebounds per game (31.3) and total rebounds per game (45.1). The Black & Gold is 6-1 at home this season and sits in a tie for first in the PBC East Division with USC Aiken.  
• No. 17 North Georgia (13-2, 5-1 PBC) has won seven of its last eight games overall and is outscoring opponents by an average of 13.4 points per game. The Nighthawks are 5-1 away from home this season and are currently slotted second in the PBC West Division race.  
• The Nighthawks lead the PBC in field goal percentage (43.8), free throw percentage (71.0) and opponent 3-point field goal percentage, while ranking second in rebounding margin per game (+6.2) and points per game allowed (56.9). UNG boasts the league's third-best scorer in Kelsey Hutchins who averages 18.6 per tilt. Two other Nighthawks average double figures in Amber Skidgel (11.9) and Jordan Livesay (11.8). Livesay hauls in a team-best 7.7 boards per game, while Hutchins grabs 6.6 per contest.
• The Braves have a slight edge in the series history with UNG, winning nine of the 17 all-time meetings dating back to the 1988-89 campaign. Last season, UNCP was a 77-56 winner in Pembroke behind 20 points from Huntley and a double-double from Monley (14 points, 13 rebounds).

MEN'S NOTES

• The Braves (12-4, 5-2 PBC) pushed their win streak out to three games with a convincing 90-74 victory over Peach Belt Conference-leading Young Harris on Saturday in Pembroke. The Black & Gold improved to 7-1 this season at home with the victory, while also handing the Mountain Lions their first conference loss of the campaign.
• Newcomer Nigel Grant canned 72 percent of his shots from the field on the way to scoring 20 or more points in wins at Montevallo on Monday and Young Harris on Saturday. Grant (14.3 points/game vs. PBC) is one of five players averaging double-figure scoring numbers for the Braves through seven league outings so far this season.
• UNCP is averaging nearly 89 points per game at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court this season, but also puts up 11.1 steals and 6.3 blocks an outing in Pembroke as well. More than 70 percent (25) of freshman Akia Pruitt's PBC-best 35 blocks in 2016-17 have come at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.
• PBC co-leader North Georgia (9-6, 5-1 PBC) has now captured six of its last eight contests after Saturday's 84-72 triumph at Francis Marion. The Nighthawks are the league's third-best scoring team at 86.1 points per game, but allow opponents to shoot at a 46.3 percent clip (12^th PBC) and surrender 82.9 points per game (13^th PBC) as well. North Georgia is 4-3 away from Dahlonega, Ga., this season, but have won three-straight road games heading into Monday.
• Shaquan Cantrell ranks ninth among PBC players with a 17.1 points per game scoring average and has shot 52.4 percent from the field this season, but also averages nearly three turnovers per contest as well. Guards Ebo Smith and Denzell Hosch average nearly six 3-point attempts per game this season and both are shooting near 40 percent from the perimeter.
• North Georgia leads the all-time series, 9-6, but the Braves have won four of the last five in the series, including a 79-73 thriller last season in Pembroke. The Black & Gold is 3-4 all-time against the Nighthawks at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.
