PEMBROKE – Two days removed from a doubleheader sweep of visiting Georgia College on Friday afternoon at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court, the UNC Pembroke men's and women's basketball teams will hit the road again on Monday when they make the long trek to central Alabama to battle Montevallo in a 6:30 p.m. ET doubleheader inside Trustmark Arena.
 
Fans can follow both games for free via a live audio stream on the UNCP Braves YouTube channel with Cameron Songer handling the play-by-play duties. The game can also be followed via live video and statistics link provided by UM as well.

WOMEN'S NOTES

• The Lady Braves (8-4, 3-2 PBC) ran past Georgia College, 71-51, in their last outing on Friday at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court and improved to 5-1 at home this season. UNCP had a season-high five players score in double figures in the win.
• Senior Jonissa Monley cashed in a game-best 18 points Friday, tying a season high for the forward. Monley leads the team with 10.5 points per game, grabs a team-high 8.0 rebounds per contest and has put together four double-doubles this season. Classmate Jasmine Huntley joins Monley in double-figure scoring with an even 10.0 per tilt and leads the Braves with 45 assists and 22 steals. Junior sharp shooter Ebone Stevens ranks third in the PBC with a 43.5 3-point field goal percentage (20-for-46).
• UNCP ranks second among the 14 PBC institutions in total rebounds per game (45.1) and ranks third in 3-point field goals made per game (6.6), defensive rebounds per game (30.8) and opponent 3-point field goal percentage (24.4). The Black & Gold is 3-3 away from home this season, and currently sits second in the PBC East Division race.
• Montevallo (3-8, 0-4 PBC) is in the midst of a five-game losing streak, with their last win coming December 10 over Auburn-Montgomery. The Falcons are one of two conference teams without a win in league play and are 3-4 at Trustmark Arena this season.
• The Falcons rank second in the PBC in defensive rebounds per game (31.2) and rank third in blocks per contest (4.5), but commit a league-worst 21 turnovers per game. Morgan Smith leads Montevallo with 13.5 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per contest - good for a tie for seventh in the PBC. Haven Albright pours in 12.8 points per game, while Albanellys Perez grabs 8.5 boards each tilt, ranking ninth in the conference. RayVon Christian is 10th in the PBC with a 51.3 field goal percentage and Jazmine Stubblefield sits fourth in the league averaging 5.5 assists per game.
• The Braves hold a 6-1 advantage in the all-time series over Montevallo, including a perfect 3-0 on the road. Last season, UNCP was a 60-50 winner in Pembroke behind 19 points and 12 rebounds from Monley and 16 points from Huntley.

MEN'S NOTES

• The Braves (10-4, 3-2 PBC) used a key 20-2 run midway through the second half to snap a two-game skid with a 76-69 victory over visiting Georgia College on Friday in Pembroke. UNCP shot nearly 48 percent from the field in the second half, and got a career-best 15 points (all in second half) from Micah Kinsey, as well as James Murray-Boyle's first career double-double to fuel the effort.
• The Black & Gold is 4-2 on the road this season, with its two setbacks coming by a total of four points. The Braves are shooting 46.5 percent from the field in true road games, and are +8.2 in the rebounding column in those games as well.
• UNCP ranks 11^th, nationally, with a league-best 9.6 steals per game, but also paces the PBC with 16.9 assists an outing (38^th NCAA) as well. The Braves still rank second among the 14 league schools in scoring offense (86.6 points/game).
• Montevallo (9-2, 3-1) had its six-game win streak snapped with a 73-60 setback at Augusta on Saturday afternoon. It was the first road loss of the season for the Falcons, who have also dropped just one home contest as well – a 75-68 decision to Miles on November 19.
• The Falcons have outscored opponents by a PBC-best 14.6 points per game this season, and will showcase the league's second-best scoring defense (65.3 points/game allowed) on Monday as well. Their blowout resume this season includes a 45-point win over Carver in the season opener, as well as a 25-point road victory over Francis Marion less than a week ago.
• Senior forward Javonte Douglas ranks second in the PBC with a 23.5 points per game scoring average, and has connected on better than 51 percent of his field goal attempts this season. A 51.4 percent 3-point shooter, Douglas also averages 11.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game as well.
• Montevallo leads the all-time series, 9-2, but the Braves snapped a seven-game series losing streak with a 91-75 victory on their last visit to Alabama on Jan. 10, 2015. The Black & Gold picked up its second win of the series with an 80-71 home triumph over the Falcons last season.
