PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke men's and women's basketball teams will close out the road portion of their 2016-17 regular season schedule on Saturday when the Braves make the long trek to St. Augustine, Fla., for a rematch with Peach Belt Conference East Division rival Flagler. Tipoff for the doubleheader is slated for 1:30 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
 
Fans can follow both games for free via a live audio stream on the UNCP Braves YouTube channel with Cameron Songer handling the play-by-play duties. The game can also be followed via live video and statistics link provided by Flagler as well.

WOMEN'S NOTES

• The Braves (15-9, 10-7 PBC) suffered their second overtime loss of the season Wednesday, as Armstrong State knocked down a 3-pointer with 2.9 ticks on the clock in the extra period to escape with a 73-72 victory at Alumni Arena. It was UNCP's fifth-consecutive road loss and the Black & Gold fell to 4-8 away from home this season. 
• While the Braves have struggled on the road, the script has been flipped at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court where the Black & Gold has posted an 11-1 record, including 11 straight triumphs dating back to Nov. 30. UNCP averages three more points in Pembroke and shoots the long ball at a 36.5-percent clip compared to just 29.2 percent from behind the arc on the road.
• Three Braves rank in the league's top five in 3-point shooting percentage, including junior Ebone Stevens who leads all PBC shooters with a 42.1-percent mark from deep. Classmates Brianna Baham (39.3) and Blair Silliman (38.2) rank fourth and fifth in the conference. Baham's seven points in Wednesday's loss was her lowest output since Dec. 30, a span of 15 games that saw her score at least eight points, including 11 double-digit scoring performances. 
• Flagler (4-20, 2-15 PBC) snapped a four-game losing skid with an 80-78 overtime victory at USC Aiken Wednesday. Freshman Kiarra Crane's buzzer beater gave Flagler its second road win of the season. The Saints' two PBC wins have now come the game before taking on the Black & Gold. 
• Bri Roberts leads all Saints with 14.0 points per game and ranks third in the league in 3-point shooting at 41.5 percent. Tiffany Hodge cashes in 13.6 points per outing and leads the PBC in rebounding with 11.6 per contest. Her 52.6 field goal percentage is good for sixth-best in the conference. 
• UNCP leads the all-time series 9-6 over Flagler, but the Saints have won four of the seven meetings in St. Augustine, Florida. Flagler led by 13 points with under three to play in the Feb. 1 meeting between the sides, but the Braves closed on a 15-0 run, capped off by a a Nyla Allen layup with two seconds to play to secure the 65-63 UNCP victory.

MEN'S NOTES

• The Braves (19-7, 12-5 PBC) are riding their second five-game win streak of the season after Wednesday evening's 93-81 victory over Armstrong State in Savannah, Ga. The Braves shot better than 53 percent in the second half of that contest, and out-rebounded the Pirates, 56-33.
• UNCP is 8-4 in true road games this season, and currently boasts a three-game win streak in such contests as well. This season will mark just the second time (2014-15) in six years that the Black & Gold will finish with a winning record in true road games, and the third time under head coach Ben Miller.
• The Braves still sport the league's top-scoring offense (85.6 points/game), and are 17-2 this season when holding opponents to 82 points or less. Over the current five-game winning skein, the Black & Gold has held opponents to 73.6 points per game and a paltry 36.3 (114-for-314) field goal percentage.
• Flagler (9-15, 3-14 PBC) have now lost five-straight outings after Wednesday evening's 90-78 road setback to USC Aiken. The losing skein, coincidentally, began with the 82-62 loss to the Braves at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court just more than two weeks ago. Seven of the nine victories for the Saints this season have come in St. Augustine.
• Vaughn McCall (16.2 points/game) and Cortlin Davis (15.9) rank 11^th and 12^th, respectively, among league leaders in scoring this season, while Chris Williams boasts the league's third-best rebounding average (9.8/game). McCall has logged more than 6.4 attempts per game from 3-point territory this season, and ranks fourth among PBC leaders in 3-pointers made per game (2.5).
• The Braves lead the all-time series, 13-2, and will carry a five-game win streak against the Saints into Saturday's matchup. UNCP is a perfect 8-0 at home in the series, and has won the last two meetings with Flagler in St. Augustine.
