HARTSVILLE, S.C.
Luke Jackson's sacrifice fly with one out in the top of the seventh inning brought Lucas Ledford racing home with the eventual game-winning score as the 27th-ranked UNC Pembroke baseball team pushed its win streak out to 14 games with a 2-1 victory at Coker on Sunday afternoon.

The Braves (35-11) have now won 19 of their last 21 games dating back to a 7-3 home win over Georgia College on March 19. Sunday's doubleheader sweep at Coker marked the ninth-straight road win for the Black & Gold, while also marking the 12th series win of the season for UNCP as well. The Cobras (22-22) have now dropped eight of the last nine matchups with the Braves.

Ethan Baucom (1-for-3, RBI) and River Ryan (1-for-3) mustered the only hits of the game for the visitors, while Roberto Rivera walked twice and scored once on a 0-for-2 showing at the plate. Four different players registered base hits for Coker, including Jon Koski (1-for-3) who singled in a run in the home half of the first.

The Braves utilized the services of five pitchers in the outing, with Hank Simpson (4-0) earning the win in relief with 1-1/3 scoreless innings of work. Kyle Ramsey notched his fifth save of the campaign by recording the final two outs of the contest. Cody Brown (1-4) struck out a season-best 11 batters, but took the loss anyway after surrendering a pair of earned runs on two hits and six walks.

Koski's one-out RBI single in the first and Baucom's two-out RBI single in the third marked the only offense in the game for the first six innings, with the seventh and final frame providing all of the excitement. Ledford drew a leadoff walk and moved to third base on a pair of wild pitches from Brown, and then beat the throw to the plate moments later on Jackson's line out to left field.

The Cobras put a pair of runners into scoring position with one out in the seventh, but Ramsey came on to retire the final two batters of the contest and slam the door on the rally.

The Braves will continue a regular season-ending six-game road trip on Tuesday when they head to Hickory to take on Lenoir-Rhyne (21-26) in a 6 p.m. contest at Smith Road Complex.
