Box Score PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke volleyball team got double-digit kills from three different players and hit nearly .300 at the net on the way to a straight-sets victory (25-21, 25-19, 25-20) over visiting Southern Wesleyan on Tuesday evening in Pembroke.
 
The triumph marked the seventh-straight non-conference victory for the Braves (10-20) who also reached double-digit wins on the season for the first time since the 2014 campaign. It was the fifth loss in the last six outings for the Warriors (8-16) who have now dropped two-straight matches in the series with the Black & Gold.

MATCH REPLAY
SET 1 I 25-21	Southern Wesleyan took a 13-6 lead thanks to blocks by Courtney Price and Davis Hendricks, but Shannon Skryd's kill moments later sparked the hosts on an 12-2 run that gave them all the momentum. The Warriors cut into their deficit with three-straight points, but the Braves eventually closed out the set with a 4-1 run.
SET 2 I 25-19	The Braves hit nearly .350 and committed just five hitting errors en route to the victory in set two. Southern Wesleyan grabbed a 17-16 advantage on an attack error by the Black & Gold, but UNCP responded by closing out the set with a 9-2 run that put them into the driver's seat.
SET 3 I 25-20	Southern Wesleyan grabbed a 12-11 advantage thanks to a block from Sarah Stone, but the Braves tacked up five of the next six points to take a lead they would never relinquish. The Warriors made it a 21-19 set after Stone's kill, but the Black & Gold closed out the night with a 4-1 run to clinch the match.
