PEMBROKE – Forecast models calling for heavy rain to move into southeast North Carolina on Saturday evening and into Sunday has altered the 21^st-ranked UNC Pembroke baseball team's regularly scheduled opening weekend series with Shepherd.
 
The Braves and Rams will both open their season with a 3 p.m. contest on Friday afternoon at Sammy Cox Field, but the series will now be concluded with an 11:30 a.m. doubleheader on Saturday. Admission prices are $7 for adults and $5 for children 17 years of age and younger, as well as senior citizens.
