SALISBURY – A one-hour lightning delay in the first half, coupled with another lightning strike in the 53^rd minute, signaled the end to the UNC Pembroke soccer team's contest at Catawba on Wednesday evening. The game will officially be recorded as a no contest as it did not reach the 70-minute mark required by the NCAA.
 
Catawba was leading the contest, 1-0, when the game was halted thanks to a 27^th minute goal by Katie Webb. Statistics in unofficial games are not recorded, however.
 
The Braves (2-1-0) will lift the lid on the Peach Belt Conference portion of their 2018 slate on Saturday when they head to St. Augustine, Fla., to lock horns with Flagler (5-2-0, 3-1-0 PBC). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Saints Field.
