Baseball Finishes Off Sweep Of Claflin

PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke baseball team scored 18 runs on 17 hits in the first two innings alone behind a solid outing from right-hander Jacob Morrison to finish off a Peach Belt Conference sweep of visiting Claflin with a 26-1 rout of the Panthers on Sunday afternoon at Sammy Cox Field.
 
UNCP (13-5, 7-2 PBC) has now win six-straight games – its longest win streak since raking in 10-straight wins from April 17-May 12, 2018. The Panthers (4-10, 0-8), who were outscored 66-2 across the weekend series, fell to 0-8 all-time against the Black & Gold.

KEY INNINGS
BOT 1 The Braves sent 13 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first inning, and scored eight runs on as many hits to take a lead they would not relinquish. Alex Simpson's 3-run homer highlighted the early scoring barrage.
