Baseball Finishes Off Sweep At King

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The UNC Pembroke baseball team turned in its 11th double-digit hit attack of the season behind a phenomenal outing from freshman Evan McLean, and the Braves finished off a Conference Carolinas series sweep of home-standing King with an 8-2 victory over the Tornado on Tuesday afternoon.
 
It was the third three-game series sweep of the season for the Braves (16-6, 8-1 CC) who have now captured 12 of their last 15 outings dating back to February 18. It was the fifth-straight loss for the Tornado (9-9, 6-5) who dipped to 9-7 at home this season with the loss as well.

KEY INNINGS
TOP 2 Trent Harris drew a 6-pitch walk to put a pair of runners aboard for the Braves, and UNCP took a lead it would not relinquish in the next at-bat via a 2-out RBI single from Wellington Guzman.
TOP 3 Christian Jayne climbed aboard via a one out single, and moved to third base via a stolen base and a costly error, to set the table for a fielder's choice RBI from Andrew Mills. Spencer Faulkner's double moments later brought Mills racing home from second base with the 3-0 lead.
